In Human Too, Carly utilizes a vocal technique that she has coined as a “Native-Scat.” A “Native-Scat” combines improvisation similar to a traditional jazz scat with the nuances of vocables from Native American chants and prayer songs. Afterward the improvisation transforms into a traditional jazz scat.

Human Too is a journey through the eyes of several marginalized communities. It addresses the Black Lives Matter Movement, Children at the border and Indigenous/ Native American issues in regard to social justice.

What if I Said "I can't breathe"?
In fact, I beg and I plead while your knee is pushing down on me.
Is there more compassion for someone who's skin is unpigmented?
Is it really a threat? Maybe you need to look within.

Why are you so afraid? Maybe you don't know, it's just so deeply ingrained.

Would it matter more if we looked like you?
Black Lives Matter. We are human too.

What if you had to leave your home, flee with uncertainty your future unknown; but still you go because you're desperate for glimpse of hope?

Exaggerate your features in an ugly way,

a word meant to demean and mark the bounty on your head.
